Albert Einstein’s Postcard to Professor Paalzow

In his search for an assistant professorship, Einstein writes numerous applications on spec: In April 1901 he buys a pile of stamped postcards and sends them off. One reaches Carl Paalzow, a professor at the Technische Hochschule in Berlin. The application is unsuccessful.
