Donor List for the Einstein Donations
Berlin 1920

Since national funds for scientific projects in Germany after the end of World War I are scarce, Freundlich, with Einstein’s approval, composes an Appeal for Einstein Donations. The monies are to be used for the building of the Einstein Tower. After Freundlich is able to collect the majority of the funds from countless private citizens, banks and companies, the national government contributes as well. Construction begins in the summer of 1920.
