Bubble Chamber Photograph
Bubble chambers were developed in the 1950s. They contain a superheated liquid hotter than its boiling point. Minor disturbances caused by electrically charged particles bring this liquid to a boil. Tiny gas bubbles form along the paths of the particles, which can be photographed to record their motion.
