Carl von Ossietzky (1889-1938) is chief editor of Weltbühne, and one of the most influential, critical reporters of the erosion of the Weimar constitution.
After a report on secret armament activities, he is accused of treason.
Many well-known people, including Thomas Mann and Albert Einstein, stand up for him.
He is sentenced to 18 months prison. After an amnesty is granted, he is released after half a year in Decemebr 1932.
