Nobel Prize for Physics, 1989
Wolfgang Paul (right), Hans G. Dehmelt (left) and Norman F. Ramsey received together the 1989 Nobel prize for their developments into the technique of ion traps (Paul, Dehmelt) and for fundamental research aimed at creation of the cesium atomic clock and of the hydrogen maser (Ramsey).
